Home to the Sherpa

Nepal is considered home not only to the Nepalese people who are very diverse in ethnicity but is also home to other ethnic people, such as the Sherpas. This country is considered the gateway to the Himalayas. It ranges in beauty from the foothills to the mountains - from the plains of the Terai in the south to Sagarmatha (Mount Everest) in the north. The climate in Nepal also varies from the plains to the hills. It depends on which time of the year, you are traveling. It can get hot and humid in the summer; rain in the middle of summer, and it snows in the Himalayas. No one can ignore the beauty of Nepal.

Nepal was made famous by the conquest of Mount Everest by mountaineer explorers Tenzing Norgay and New Zealand's Sir Edmund Hillary. The nepalese people demonstrate a variety of features culture and religion. For example, the Gurkhas are hindus while the sherpas practice Buddhism.
