Kathmandu Valley

Hi all!!  Even though Nepal is a landlocked country, you can definitely enter Nepal by land or air!!  Jokes apart, you really can.

Arranging for tours and treks is fairly easy as it houses multiple companies that can provide you with guides for booking trekking tours.

Hotels are comparatively inexpensive so either check out a book from your local library or purchase one on www.amazon.com

A good tourist guide book is  www.lonelyplanet.com/nepal

If you prefer to stay in a luxury hotel, you will find many.  Look out for highly discounted deals.

Don't forget; Mother's Day is around the corner in America.

You can call it "nostalgia"

Nepal is on my mind as well as in my dream. I talked to my sister who lives in England and she is planning on a trip to Nepal once again. We talk a lot about it on the phone. As I was on the Reddit site, I felt nostalgia for India where I grew up and Nepal where I lived for a few years. If you're planning to travel to Nepal, you can look at this site that was posted on Reddit https://flydealfare.com/

2019

My thoughts and prayers are for the people of New Zealand. I am especially sad as both my grandchildren were born in Auckland. Christchurch is home to a high school friend of mine with whom I grew up in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. I am sentimental and wear kiwi charm that dangles from a black string around my neck that my older son and his family sent me from Auckland. Air New Zealand is one of my favorite airlines as well.

Happy New Year Nepal!

This time of the year in Nepal, it's cool most nights but days are filled with bright sunshine. Springtime is fast approaching. A very, very interesting place to visit in Nepal is the Chitwan National Park. This is also a wild life sanctuary. There is a tree-top hotel called "Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge." I worked for their main office in Kathmandu in my youth. The lodge has a world-wide reputation for being unique. You may check it out: www.tigertops.com

Tourism in Nepal

Hello every one!! It's certainly been some time since I last visited Nepal but I do have fond memories of my very brief life, living in Nepal from 1964 until 1974. When I arrived in Kathmandu in 1964, I actually had culture shock!! I lived my teen-age years in Shillong, Meghalaya and was amazed how different Nepal was from Shillong. Believer it or not, I was surprised to see a bunch of cows in the streets!! February is Spring time and a really good time for visiting Nepal. Tourism in Nepal was and still is the nation's lucrative industry so to speak! Many airlines including Etihad Airways, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways fly to Nepal. I met and made friends with whom I correspond to this day. I love Kathmandu as it's uniquely quaint in many ways; interestingly, Nepal has one foot in the 16th Century and the other foot in the 21st Century!! As an airhostess (flight attendant, I had the opportunity in my youth), to visit Pokhara, Bhairavah, Dang, Lumbini, and Biratnagar. I will try and pick some pictures to post soon. Again, hi to all and hope to see you soon!!
