Everest/Nepal
http://www.mounteverest.net/ Kathmandu, Nepal.
I remember, as a young girl while studying in Shillong, India in the mid 1960s, I came across a unique 1933 novel at the town library, "Lost Horizon." It was written by an English writer about Shangri-La (a fictional utopian lamasery tucked away in the mountains of Tibet). This was later made into a movie. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Horizon_(novel) - It also reminds me of yet another great movie (by opinion) "Seven Years in Tibet" authored by Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer. It's about his escape to Tibet with fellow Austrian Peter Aufschnaiter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Years_in_Tibet_(1997_film)
