The country of Nepal is famously know to be on top of the world. Visit Nepal; cities include Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar, Bhairawa, Birganj and Nepalganj are among many well visited cities in Nepal. The history and culture of Nepal is very unique and interesting. Topographically, Nepal enjoys mountains, valleys and plains. Many airlines find Kathmandu as destinations for tourists from different countries.

Best time to Fly to Nepal
While many residents wish to travel south of the border to India, many will be flying to other destinations in Asia.
All in all, this is my favorite time of the year to actually spend time with family and friends in Kathmandu, Nepal.
If you're contemplating travel plans, consider this:

Tea - a Beverage for All
Tea is considered a universal beverage. It's enjoyed by young and old; prepared and served hot or cold.
Ilam tea is cultivated in Nepal as well as in the foothills of nearby northeast India.
I grew up in India and spent a lot of time in Assam, close to Darjeeling.
Tea plantations and tea estates were popular destinations for tourists even in the 1950s.
I, for one, enjoy tea, anytime of the day.
The leaves are picked from the Camellia Sinensis plant. After processing, we get tea that's wonderful and welcomed at social events and on a one-on-one setting.
ENJOY!!

Holidays End of 2019
Many tourists fly to Kathmandu, Nepal at year's end. Not only because it's starting to cool in the valley, but it's also dry stepping off the wet months of August, September and October.
Some interesting gadgets and electronics that you can purchase before you board that flight to Nepal are available on Amazon at fairly good prices.

Nepal - Cottage Industries
In this day and age, Nepal can surely boast. Many of her cottage industries include carpet and wicker weaving. Owning land is a thing of the past. Many Nepalese own small businesses like jewelry and metal crafts, wood-working, to name a few. Cottage industries are renowned for it local production and merchandising of local fabrics and ready made clothing. Internet entrepreneurship is on the rise to include bloggers and You-Tubers. Some are authors of both fiction and non-fiction.
I wanted to mention that jewelry making is another skill the Nepalese people are proud of. Another talent is that of metal crafting and wood-working. I will be remiss if I don't mention trekking, travel and mountaineering. Since agriculture is limited to little pieces of land on the hillsides, tea is a major upcoming industry. Nepal produces, packs and ships tea (world wide) from its tea plantations
You will hardly see a local without a cell phone or a watch:

Tea
When I lived in Kathmandu, Nepal - a morning ritual (as in Shillong, Meghalaya, India) - Tea was my number one favorite beverage; hot or cold; I enjoyed tea.
I am looking at this really cool site and perhaps you could as well:

Nepal - Flights to Kathmandu
Now that I'm back from my 23-day visit to NYC, I'm already thinking of going somewhere else - not too far; perhaps Miami? My younger sister who lives in the U K has already booked her flight to Sydney for May 8, 2020. We are planning to visit my older son, his wife and my grandchildren. I am still browsing for a decent fare.
Flight prices are quite reasonable and compatible on this site:

Unwinding
I've been back in Indianapolis for nearly two weeks. Believe it or not, I'm still decompressing - I was in between Long Island City and New York City for over three weeks. I came back having experienced a lot. These included new experiences as well as some challenges. I learned a lot about the routines and activities of daily living, watching street vendors, baby sitters (in Park Square), pet walkers, riding trains, and the public in general. You can work out a budget but I tended to overspend; all the foods were tempting, and I often got thirsty. So visiting cafes, ordering fruit smoothies was something I could not resist.

Pokhara - Nepal
Upon watching the a travel/information video recently, I'm consumed with nostalgia for the days when I was young, flying (Royal Nepal Airlines) as an air hostess. We flew daily to many parts of Nepal including Pokhara (the land of my forefathers; I am a Gurung). Our 28-seater DC3 would make a rough landing on the dirt and gravel air strip. Now, Lake Phewa is the biggest tourist attraction (in those days 1964 too). If you've picked up a travel tour guide or a pamphlet, you will see that there are numerous travel guides to include hiking, trekking, boating and fishing; even paragliding. Back in those days, there were no restaurants nor hotels. If the weather was bad, we got grounded. The crew to include Captain Upadhaya and co-pilot Captain ML Singh, would spend the night with locals who would provide a simple dinner of chicken curry and rice. We did the best we could to get through the night until morning when we could fly back to Kathmandu. Now, in this day and age, tourists are provided luxurious hotels (even cheaper motels), tours in an SUV, etc. So visit Nepal, and of all popular destinations, Pokhara is my favorite not only because I'm a native but it does offer a lot to the tourist.

It is Summer in Nepal
Kathmandu and surrounding areas will receive a lot of rain during these summer months. As you will probably be sightseeing and hiking, you may need a really good shampoo to maintain healthy, shiny, glossy hair.

Nepal Tea
Tea is a beverage enjoyed by all in Nepal. It's tradition to offer a hot cup of tea whenever a guest arrives. I love to drink hot tea with a little bit of cream in it.

Celebrate
Kathmandu Valley
Hi all!! Even though Nepal is a landlocked country, you can definitely enter Nepal by land or air!! Jokes apart, you really can.
Arranging for tours and treks is fairly easy as it houses multiple companies that can provide you with guides for booking trekking tours.
Hotels are comparatively inexpensive so either check out a book from your local library or purchase one on www.amazon.com
A good tourist guide book is www.lonelyplanet.com/nepal
If you prefer to stay in a luxury hotel, you will find many. Look out for highly discounted deals.
Don't forget; Mother's Day is around the corner in America.

You can call it "nostalgia"
Nepal is on my mind as well as in my dream.
I talked to my sister who lives in England and she is planning on a trip to Nepal once again. We talk a lot about it on the phone.
As I was on the Reddit site, I felt nostalgia for India where I grew up and Nepal where I lived for a few years.
If you're planning to travel to Nepal, you can look at this site that was posted on Reddit

2019
My thoughts and prayers are for the people of New Zealand.
I am especially sad as both my grandchildren were born in Auckland.
Christchurch is home to a high school friend of mine with whom I grew up in Shillong, Meghalaya, India.
I am sentimental and wear kiwi charm that dangles from a black string around my neck that my older son and his family sent me from Auckland.
Air New Zealand is one of my favorite airlines as well.
