Wineries in Nepal
I have not researched to see how many wineries are existing in Nepal but I will find out. Last Saturday, Aug. 28, my family and I visited a winery near Bloomington, Indiana. It was a beautiful day and we tasted a couple of wines. I especially liked white Pinot Grigio. We bought six bottles of red, white and fruit wines. Their outdoor garden was just fabulous!

On the way to the Khumbu Glacier
There are many mountaineering and trekking companies in the city of Kathmandu. The porters are generally Thamang who assist the caravan that starts in Kathmandu to the Khumbu Glacier. Interestingly, the Thamangs are neither Indian nor Mongoloid. The Thamangs are a charming and friendly people. The heavy loads are then transfered by the Sherpas who continue on the trek.

Kathmandu Valley
When I first flew into the Valley of Kathmandu, a long, long time ago (it seems), it was in a DC3 - can you believe that? I looked out of the window and it seemed like the wing tips were so close to the terraced hills! It was awesome!! The terraces of paddy fields were emerald green. Upon descent, you will see the valley. Home to a huge international and diplomatic community. The city is surrounded by the beautiful Himalayan mountain range.
